LOVE

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year, I was really trying to stretch a dollar, but still make cute and festive Valentines. Here are a few we made this year.

There ain't "MUFFIN" I don't like about you!

For Charlie, we decided to use bubble gum. He picked it out at Sam's; where a big bucket of 380 pieces costs less than $7. We took the phrase, "i chew-se you" found in this month's Living magazine and online at Marthastewart.com. Here is our finished product.

Later, I thought of the phrase, "Friends Stick Together!" this would be really cute with stickers or bandaids too.

For Hank, I took bubbles that I bought in Target's clearance section this summer (.30 for a pack of 4) and paired them with Hershey kisses. The saying we attached is "Blowing you kisses!" Here's our finished product.

My niece Kensington is taking handwriting tablets and festive pencils with the phrase "U R WRITE 4 me!'. Way to go Gaga and Ashley

Here are a few more ideas.

Rice Krispie Treats - "It's a real TREAT being your friend!"

Fruit by the Foot - "You really MEASURE up to be a great friend!"

Cookies - "We're smart cookies because we're friends!"

A beach ball or bouncy ball - "Its a BALL being friends!"

Bubbles - "I feel bubbly around you!"

Frisbees - "Friends go the distance!"

Popcorn and/or ring pops - "My heart POPS for you!"
(This was our Valentine last year.

Kids say the funniest things!

I have seen the emails that go around with the funny things kids say, and watched Bill CosbY and Jay Leno interview kids. It's absolutely hysterical. But, I have to say nothing is as funny as when it's your own kids. Charlie and Hank keep us in stitches. Here are a couple of the most recent.

Hank and Marshall
Hank: Look! A roller coaster.

Marshall: That's Carowinds. (Marshall very carefully annunciated car-o-winds.)

Hank: No, daddy, it's a ROLL-O-COASTER!

Charlie was talking to me in the car one day.

Charlie: God can't send us any more babies because we don't have any more room in our house.

Me: We are not having any more babies.

Silence for a few minutes.

Charlie: mommy, are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Me: I don't know. What are you thinking?

Charlie: Wellllll, we could have one more baby. There is a room downstairs.

Me: (trying very hard not to laugh) No, I don't think we will have any more babies.

Christmas Program

I said that I wasn't going to go back and post things I missed, but I just can't help myself. Charlie and Hank's preschool Christmas program was too precious. I hadn't even seen these pictures myself until this morning. It's quiet here for a moment (I'm sure it isn't going to last long.)

Charlie recited a bible verse. He went up to the microphone like a pro, and spoke loudly and clearly. He's a natural. I'm a proud mamma. Can you tell? :)
