Bed Time Parade

We do our bed time routine of baths, stories, snacks, and good night prayers, hugs, and kisses. This sounds so simple, but it takes FOREVER. Tonight, Hank cries but goes right to sleep in his crib. Charlie lays down but begins negotiations. "I sleep in you bed?" "You sleep with me?" Marshall tucks him in and tells him good night.

About ten minutes later, I hear him playing in his room. I leave him alone because he wasn't hurting anything, and he was just quietly playing. Yes, he was disobeying, but I have to pick my battles and I'm exhausted. I finally go to check on him, and he meets me on the stairs.

I say, "Charlie, if you get out of bed again, you are going to have to give me your paci."
Without missing a beat, he pops his paci out, puts it in my hand, continues to walk right past me down the stairs. I guess I should have waited to give him the ultimatum until he was back in bed. Needless to say, he is back in bed but not very happy about it.
