Deep and Wide

This past Sunday Charlie came home singing Deep and Wide and doing his version of the motions. I e-mailed Shay, our music minister, to tell her thank you so much for doing music time with the preschool Sunday school class. She told me that she was glad to know that Charlie was singing because during Sunday school he watched intently. Enjoy the video. Hank is catching on fast.

Jump, Charlie, Jump!

This was totally and completely Charlie's idea!

We took Granny to Athens today go shopping, and we had to run to Target too. When we got to the mall, Charlie found lots to do. He rode the train around the bottom level and jumped on the giant trampoline contraption. Pappy and Gaga surprised us by coming to eat lunch with us. Charlie also wanted to play the indoor Groovy Golf too, but he spent all of our money and time bouncing and riding the train. Granny finished shopping before Charlie finished playing.

Charlie watched some other kids do this before he asked to do it. One little girl had a lot of experience and could do flips which you will see Charlie try, and one little boy was Charlie's age. Charlie did it twice. I thought that he would chicken out once he got up to the harness, but oh no, he was all for it.

Water Slide

This water slide was a necessity according to Charlie. On Friday, I told Charlie that I would take him to buy a new pool because our pool sprung a leak. We went to the store and found some pools that were not cheap, and Charlie found a water slide (not a slip 'n' slide.) I did not have enough money at the moment to buy that slide. I told him that we would go look at other stores for a slide. We could not find one. I tried to get him to get a pool at the other three stores, Charlie kept saying, "I not want a pool. I want a slide."
On Saturday, we went to Wal-Mart in search of a water slide. They didn't have any. We were trying to convince Charlie to get a pool and use his big slide at home. He kept saying, "I not want a pool. I want a slide." On the way out of Wal-Mart, Marshall stopped to look at a box with a big inflatable water slide inside.
Charlie: "What's that?"
Marshall: "It's just a pool." Hoping to fool Charlie. RIGHT!!!!!!!!
Charlie: "O.K. I want that pool."
Marshall: "Charlie, that pool is too big for you."
Charlie: "That pool is not too big for me daddy."
We had it priced (suckers). It was on SALE for $300. Normal price was $500. We definitely did not have enough money for that one.

Here I come!

Hilton Head Beach, SC

What a fun and unexpected weekend! We went with our friends to the beach. It was absolutely wonderful. They have the whole set up down to a science. We enjoyed their tent, chairs, and sandwiches on the beach. Not ordinary sandwiches either; these sandwiches were amazing especially for the beach. They also took us to one of the restaurants they always go to called the Crazy Crab. As Marshall said, "We got a great parking spot, seated immediately, a seat by the window to watch the boats in the harbor, and really great seafood." It was perfect. Mark even made low country boil one night. Obviously, I love food. The best part of the trip was that Charlie and Hank LOVED the water this time. We couldn't keep them out of the ocean.

The crew eats as we clean up.

A stroll down the beach puts him fast asleep.

"I fell in the water!
AHHHHHHHHHH!"

After beach pictures, Tammy and Mark took us to a local ice cream shop owned by one of Mark's cousins. It was so busy. Charlie really loved it. "I want an ice cream on a stick." a.k.a. a cone. Yes, I know . . . I can't stop talking about food.

Tammy and Mark thank you so much for inviting us to share in your vacation. It was so relaxing and fun.

4th of July

Our Fourth of July weekend was wonderful. We started celebrating on Thursday night with a trip to Stone Mountain. Rich and Ashley had the great idea, and we tagged along. We enjoyed a train ride, music, picnic, and the Laser Show. There were fireworks through out the show and even a fire ball. Charlie said the fireball, "burn my eyes and fireworks hurt my feelings." He didn't like the sound too much.

We spent Friday and Saturday in the pool with the Bryngelsons. Washington had a fireworks display on Friday night, and we all went to the square to enjoy the show. Hank loved to watch the fireworks, but he did not like the sound. Gaga had to take him back to the car. As long as she was walking, he was happily watching the fireworks over her shoulder. If she stopped to look, he stared screaming. Charlie enjoyed the fireworks with his sunglasses.

A Day of Art

If you're no in the pool,
what are you to do?

It is way too hot to be outside.
Art and imagination are at work inside.

Let's paint!

Curious George pretended to be a robot.
Charlie thought it would be fun to dress up like a robot too.

Never a dull moment or a clean baby.

Hank's 1st Birthday Party

Getting ready to go PARTY!

As you can see, Hank's 1st birthday party was a HUGE success. Thank you to Mrs. Connie and Mr. Roger for letting us party at your AMAZING lake house. Laurel thank you for the cute tags on the favors and the bucket of inflatable toys; the kids loved them. Ashley thank you for the very CUTE cup cakes. Hank gave them his seal of approval! Susan Ford, Mimi, thank you for helping with the cake and Hank. You are always so sweet to pitch in and help. Momma and Daddy we couldn't have had such a wonderful party without all of your help setting up, organizing, shopping, and cleaning up. Thank you to everyone for traveling to celebrate. The party would not have been the same without you all. If you weren't there, we missed you, and I hate to tell you, but you missed a lot of FUN! See you next time. Happy Birthday Hank!
